Itinerary
After a warm reception from your tour manager at your dedicated pick-up point settle in your comfortable coach as we set off on our journey. Crossing the Scottish border, you will stop at Gretna Green, where eloping couples would exchange their vows over the Blacksmith’s anvil and be bound to each other forever. Visit the Famous Blacksmiths Shop, in Gretna Green, which has over 260 years of history and heritage. It is now an excellent, award- winning wedding destination, with many attractions for visitors including, shopping and a few restaurants.Here we will introduce you to the Whisky heritage of the Scots, which have become synonymous with a Malt Whisky Tasting of Scotland. You will discover the diversity of Scotch Whisky with a brief description of how whisky is made and the characteristics of the different whisky regions. You will also sample 2 malts, a liqueur and one surprise We then continue our journey to the bold city of Glasgow. Here in the city tour visit Glasgow Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in mainland Scotland and the oldest building in Glasgow, George square, the famous University of Glasgow & many more. Later, we enjoy a lovely Indian dinner before checking in to the hotel.
This morning after breakfast, we drive to the capital city Edinburgh. On the way, we have a photo stop at The Kelpies, which are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde. We then have a photo stop at Falkirk Wheel, The world's first & only rotating boat lift connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. Continuing the journey, we view the Forth Road Bridge to enjoy a spectacular view of the Forth Rail Bridge, have a photo stop here before contining our journey towards Edinburgh. Upon arrival, visit the famous Edinburgh Castle with its fine state apartments and ancient Scottish crown jewels. Cross the Royal Mile to see St Giles' Cathedral and its crown shaped spire. Later enjoy your dinner at one of our selected restaurants before making your way back the hotel.
Today after breakfast, channel your inner Highlander as we embark on a journey north to the banks of Loch Lomond. Here enjoy an optional cruise on Loch Lomond. We then make our way along the scenic route towards Fort William, to visit the Nevis Range. On arrival, enjoy breathtaking views of Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the British Isles, the summit rising to 1,345 meters above sea level. Originally hand-powered but has been converted to hydraulic operation. We than make our way to the Glenfinnan Visitor center to have a photo stop of the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Glenfinnan memorial. The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire, Scotland, built from 1897 to 1901. Located at the top of Loch Shiel in the West Highlands of Scotland, the viaduct overlooks the Glenfinnan Monument and the waters of Loch Shiel. Glenfinnan Viaduct has been used as a location in several films and television series, the famous one being four of the Harry Potter films. Glenfinnan Monument was erected in 1815, in tribute to the Jacobite clansmen who fought and died in the cause of Prince Charles Edward Stuart. The 18m-high monument was built here, with the lone, kilted highlander at the top providing a poignant reminder of the clansmen who gave their lives to the Jacobite cause. End the day with an amazing dinner at one of our selected restaurants before making your way back to the hotel.
Today morning after breakfast, we will check out from the hotel and settle in for a scenic drive north to the Lake District. The Lake District is England's largest National Park and is famous for its breath-taking scenery, abundant wildlife, and cultural heritage. Embrace the area's heritage from a cruise on Lake Windermere followed by an Experience and chug between Haverthwaite and Lakeside in an old-world steam train (Lakeside and Haverthwaite train will stop runniing on 29/10. For departures after 29/10, train ride will be replaced with a 45 mins circular cruise). We than proceed towards your respective drop off points and bid farewell to all friends you have made on the tour.
